TRM Lady Tigers participate in state tourney

The T.R. Miller Lady Tigers Volleyball team finished their work last week after making it to the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s State Volleyball Tournament.
The team finished the season with a loss to Ohatchee High School by a score of 0-3 in the quarter finals for the season.
The loss came after a long run of wins for the team. A winning streak of 19 games was broken on the Friday before the final match when TRM lost of St. Lukes Episcopal Wildcats by a score of 3-1.
The Lady Tigers finished their season with a 29-8 record making it to the 3A State Volleyball tournament last week.
The team boasts a 12-2 record at home; a 13-1 record on the road; and a 4-5 record at neutral courts.
The 4A Area 2 Region team finished second in the region with Jackson taking the number one sot.
In the state tournament, Ohatchee’s win in the quarterfinals against T.R. Miller pushed them to the semi finals where they defeated St. Luke’s Episcopal to head into the championship match.
The championship match was held Thursday with Mobile Christian taking the title with an win over Ohatchee.
In playoff action the team defeated Monroe County, Flomaton and Greensboro.
The team finished at 66 in the state rankings; 11 in Alabama Division 4A rankings; and 21 in Mobile rankings.
Terri Lynne Thompson serves as the coach for the Lady Tigers with 16 team players.
Listed as membes of the team are Jordan Kelly, Harper Lee Fountain, Alivia Sherrer, Madelynn Sasser, Kaylee Patterson, Layla Folsom, Ella Langham, Kylee Walton, Claire Smith, Aubreyon Dees, Avery Martin, Hailey Terrell, Cloe Poole, Chelsey McCreary, Destinee Curry and Jadin Curry.
