Gulf Winds Credit Union recently made impactful donations to two Alabama nonprofit organizations, Drexell & Honeybee’s and Camille Place, contributing a total of $3,000 to support their vital community efforts.
Drexell & Honeybee’s in Brewton is a unique, donation-based eatery that provides classic southern dishes to anyone, regardless of their ability to pay. With a mission to “Feed the Need,” Drexell & Honeybee’s allows guests to dine and donate what they can, ensuring everyone can enjoy a meal in a restaurant setting without the cost barrier.
“The donation from Gulf Winds provided the funds we needed to make our Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday meals a success,” said Lisa McMillan, Founder of Drexell & Honeybee’s.
Gulf Winds’ $1,500 donation enables the organization to provide 300 warm meals to those in need.
Camille Place in Monroeville received a $1,500 donation to support its critical work in providing housing, care, and rehabilitation to survivors of abuse and trafficking. As Alabama’s only group home serving girls under the age of 19, Camille Place plays an essential role in offering safety and support to these vulnerable young women. Gulf Winds’ contribution funds the education of the residents at Camille Place. Chris Ziebach, Founder of Camille Place, said, “Gulf Winds’ $1,500 donation will support two months of school for five residents. What a blessing this gift is!”
“Gulf Winds is committed to giving back to the communities we serve,” said Daniel Souers, President and CEO of Gulf Winds Credit Union. “We believe in supporting organizations that make a real difference in people’s lives. We are honored to contribute to Drexell & Honeybee’s and Camille Place in their missions to provide food security and a safe, healing environment for survivors of abuse.”
Gulf Winds remains dedicated to making a positive impact in Alabama through community-driven initiatives and partnerships.
