Peacock earns scholarship

Jefferson Davis Community College graduate Terri Lynne Peacock is the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship to the University of Alabama.
The scholarship, which covers the cost of tuition for four semesters, is awarded to a transfer student who has earned an associate's degree at a community college. The student must also have earned/maintained a 3.0 GPA or higher.
The announcement of the scholarship presentation was made by Dr. Susan McBride, president at Jefferson Davis Community College.
As a student at Jefferson Davis Community College, Peacock was a member of the softball team coming to the school on a softball scholarship in her freshman year.
Peacock was also a member of the Rosemary Jernigan Honors Program and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
During her sophomore year at JDCC, she served as the Student Government Association treasurer.
During her educational career at JDCC, Peacock maintained a 3.8 grade point average and graduated magna cum laude.
She is currently attending the University of Alabama and pursuing a major in exercise science.
She is the daughter of Terry and Sharon Peacock of Brewton.
Jefferson Davis Community College has campuses in Brewton and Atmore. The Brewton campus is located on Alco Drive while the Atmore campus is located just north of Atmore on U.S. 21.
Jefferson Davis Community College offers a wide variety of academic and technical courses.
