2 Dead: APD searching for suspects

The Atmore Police Department is actively investigating a double homicide that occurred on Friday evening, Dec. 8, at a vacant residence on East Ashley Street.
According to Public Information Officer Sgt. Darrell McMann, officers responded to the 100 block of East Ashley Street at approximately 8:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a vehicle parked at the vacant residence, riddled with bullet holes. Inside the vehicle were two individuals, later identified as Juwan McNeal, 25, and Joe Jones Jr., 27, both of Atmore. Both men succumbed to their injuries on the scene.
Police have not disclosed any potential motive or suspects at this time.
Investigators worked through the night, collecting evidence and canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses, according to McMann.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
