Mrs. Annie Charles Johnson, 73, died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008. She received her education in the Conecuh County School System and attended the Community College of Baltimore and received her certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Johnson Sr.; her parents, Charlie Cunningham and Callie Rudolph; her son, Gary Johnson; her sister, Loretta McCreary; and her brothers, Franklin Cunningham and Charles Cunningham Jr,
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Ronald) Jones, Brenda Ann McLaughlin, both of Alpharetta, Ga., Shirl Johnson of Jacksonville, Fla. and Jaqueline (Greg) Davis of Monroeville; her sons, George (Mary) Johnson and Stephen Johnson, both of Belleville; her brother, the Rev. Elijah J. (Lou Ann) Cunningham of Belleville; a sister, Pollie C. Counts of Laurelton, N.Y.; 25 grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchilren; a special friend, Lillian Taylor; and a number of other family members and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. at Belleville Missionary Baptist Church in Evergreen with the Rev. Sidney Tucker officiating. Burial followed at Belleville Baptist Cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
