Lady Eagles dominate JUB, 64-20

The W.S. Neal Lady Eagles picked up their third win in four games in a big way Thursday night at home when they defeated the J.U. Blacksher Lady Bulldogs 64-20 to improve to 3-1 this season.
The Lady Eagles used a 28-2 scoring advantage in the second quarter and a 20-0 run in the quarter to propel them to the 44-point win.
Freda Folmar led the Lady Eagles with a game high 29 points as she outscored the whole J.U. Blacksher Lady Bulldog team. Keyvonnia Kyles added 14 points to help in the win.
First year Lady Eagle head coach Olivia Stephens said she was pleased with the big win Thursday night.
The Lady Bulldogs got on the board first at the 6:20 mark, but from there it was all W.S. Neal.
After the early Lady Bulldog bucket, W.S. Neal went on a 9-0 run to claim a 9-2 lead with 2:31 left in the first quarter.
Folmar had two 3-pointers in the run and Rachel Davis and Kyles had points in the run. The run gave W.S. Neal a 14-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, W.S. Neal used their 2-0 run from the first quarter to go on a 20-0 run to claim a 32-6 lead with 3:11 left in the half.
The Lady Eagles held J.U. Blacksher to only two points in the quarter and those points came with 2:20 left in the half.
In the 20-0 run, Folmar had 11 points followed by five from Kyles and two each from Davis and Angelique Askew.
J.U. Blacksher scored to cut the lead to 32-8, W.S. Neal went on another run, this one a 10-0 run to end the quarter with a 42-8 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, W.S. Neal outscored J.U. Blacksher 13-7 to claim a 55-15 lead and outscored the Lady Bulldogs 9-5 in the fourth quarter to win 64-20.
W.S. Neal will be back in action on Monday at Northview at 4:30 p.m.
Flomaton 35, W.S. Neal 28
In their second game of the year against Flomaton, W.S. Neal dropped to 1-1 with a 35-28 loss to the Lady Hurricanes.
Flomaton outscored W.S. Neal 13-9 in the first quarter, but outscored the Lady Hurricanes 9-6 in the second quarter to cut the lead to 19-18 at the half.
In the third quarter, Flomaton held a 5-2 advantage to take a 24-20 lead heading into the fourth quarter. In the final quarter of play, Flomaton outscored W.S. Neal 11-8 to take the seven-point win, 35-28.
Kyles led W.S. Neal with 11 points in the loss followed by four each from Folmar, Katie Elliott and Rachel Davis.
W.S. Neal 45, Frisco City 40
The Lady Eagles of W.S. Neal got back on the winning track Tuesday with a 45-40 win over Frisco City in Frisco City. After being outscored 12-8 in the first quarter, the Lady Eagles stormed back in the second quarter to score 17 points and hold Frisco City to seven to claim a 25-19 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, Frisco City cut into the Lady Eagle lead when they outscored W.S. Neal 11-9 in the quarter to make it a 34-30 lead for the Lady Eagles.
In the fourth quarter, W.S. Neal held an 11-10 scoring advantage in the quarter to claim the 45-40 win.
Kyles led the Lady Eagles with 17 points and Folmar finished in double figures with 12 and Elliott finishing with 10 in the win.
