At 5:30 in the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 10, our 81-year-old mother was on her way to work during a torrential rainfall. While driving to work on Saint Joseph in front of Video Warehouse she ran into water flowing over the road. It was more than a puddle in the road. There was enough water in the road to overtake the car and push it almost across the railroad tracks.
I feel that this accident could have been avoided if the ditches and drains were properly drained and cleaned.
We want to thank the policemen, Brian Wesley and Brian Holt, for being there to help our mother. You were so kind to her.
Thanks also to Christina Jordan and her family for getting our mother a blanket and keeping her warm.
To Northside and Wesley Findley, we would also like to thank you for picking her up and taking her with you until we could get there.
May each of you be blessed for your act of kindness.
