Mr. Deryl Alon Weekes, 61, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, at his residence in Cantonment. He was a native of Brewton and a resident of Cantonment since 1982. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, a truck driver by trade and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette Lambeth Weekes.
He is survived by a son, Deryl Edward Weekes of Cantonment; a daughter, Catherine (Jonathan) Beal of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Patricia A. Brazell of Memphis, Tenn.; and a four grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 3 p.m. at Green Acres Memorial Gardens with Jim Beal officiating and Craver's Funeral Home directing.
