Mrs. Lizzie Kate Golden Thomas, 90, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at her residence on Tall Pine road, Jay, Fla. She was a native of Alabama and a life-long resident of the Dixonville community. She was of the Holiness faith and attended The Golden Memorial Holiness Church. She was a lifelong homemaker and farmer. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Thomas Jr.
She is survived by a son, James Wendell (Dwynette) Thomas; a brother, Paul (Elouise) Golden; a sister, Ruby (Lem) Strickland; three grandchildren, Talia Thomas (Stephen) Jackson, Tegan Thomas (Cory) Stephens, and Tiana Thomas (Ryan) Ivey; and three great-grandchildren, all of Dixonville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at The Golden Memorial Holiness Church with Brother G.W. Birdsong and Brother Andy Boutwell officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
