WSN baseball gets win

The W.S. Neal Eagle baseball team ended their four-game losing streak Thursday in Flomaton with a 7-4 win to improve to 7-4 overall.
William Shell allowed one earned run on the mound and Taylor Cash had a two-run homerun to help the Eagles get the three-run win.
W.S. Neal held a 3-0 lead through the top of the fifth inning before Flomaton cut the lead to 3-1 in the bottom half of the inning.
W.S. Neal added two runs in the top of the sixth inning to hold a 5-1 lead before the Hurricanes cut the lead to 5-4 with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
The Eagles added two runs in the top of the seventh inning to take a 7-4 lead and win the game.
Shell went the complete game on the mound for the Eagles allowing six hits, struck out nine, walked five and hit two.
Dodson Herrington was 1-for-3 with a double and Shell was 2-for-4.
Jake Cannon was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and Reid Johnson was 1-for-4.
Christian Purvis was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a double and Keith Bradley was 2-for-4.
Cash was 1-for-2 with a homerun and two RBIs.
The Eagles will be back in action on Monday against T.R. Miller in East Brewton at 4 p.m. with JV starting things off.
