Clarence Lee Turnipseed III, 58, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at a Pensacola hospital after a brief illness. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brewton and was a 1969 graduate of T.R, Miller High School. He later attended Marion Institute, the University of Southeastern Louisiana, and the University of Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Lee Turnipseed Jr. and Dorothy Warren Turnipseed.
He is survived by an uncle, William Dillard Turnipseed of Baton Rouge, La.; three sisters, Margaret T. McCormich of Gulf Breeze, Fla,, Dorothy Svendson of Falls Church, Va., and Rebecca T. Quinn of Huntsville; three nephews, Mathew Davidson of New Orleans, La., George R. McCormick Jr. of New York, N.Y., and William W. McCormick of Gulf Breeze; and one great-nephew, Brayden Mathew Davidson of New Orleans.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Brewton,
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Dr. Ed Glaize officiating. A private burial followed with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Brewton.
