Mr. Noah Stephen Graves, 85, died Sunday, May 3, 2009, in a local hospital. He was a native and life long resident of Escambia County, Ala. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army. He retired from St. Regis Paper Company after many years of service. He was a member of Brewton Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife, Violet Graves of Brewton; two sons, Aubrey Stephen (Janice) Graves of Chipley, Fla., and Daniel (Jan) Graves of Brewton; two daughters, Sheila (Troy) Watson of Crestview, Fla., and Judy George of Ninnekah, Okla; a brother, Wilbur “Gam” (Ruth) Graves of Brewton; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 5, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Byrnes Pitts and the Rev. Gam Graves officiating. Burial followed at Beulah Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
