Mr. Charlie Gaston Raines, 84, died Monday, May 4, 2009, in an Evergreen hospital. He was a life long resident of Conecuh County and was a logger during his working years. He was a member of Oak Grove Holiness Church and he was preceded in death by a son, Aubrey Gaston Raines.
He is survived by his wife, Nola Adell Raines of Repton; a son, Thomas Franklin Raines of Lenox; four daughters, Sylvia Evans, Jeanell (Ronnie) Fountain, and Karen (Nick) Kennel, all of Lenox, and Debra (Buddy) Blackmon of Range; a sister, Maudell Blackmon of Castleberry; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 7, at 10 a.m. at Oak Grove Holiness Church with the Rev. Justin Morse and the Rev. Raymond Wiggins officiating. Burial followed at the Oak Grove Cemetery with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
