After a thrilling come-from-behind win in the semifinals earlier Tuesday, Brewton dropped an 11-7 loss to Huntsville Southern in the state championship game Tuesday night at the state tournament in Huntsville.
Brewton trailed 11-5 heading into the last inning before scoring two runs to score two runs in the inning to cut the lead to 11-7.
But after scoring two runs in the inning to cut the lead to 11-7, Huntsville ended the threat with a double play to end the game and the season for Brewton.
The loss was the first loss of the postseason for Brewton including the district games in which they were 2-0. Brewton finished the postseason with a 7-1 record, the one loss coming in the state championship game.
Brewton finished second in the state with the four-run loss.
Of the six teams that advanced to the state tournaments for the Brewton area, as of Tuesday, only Brewton Little League's 10-11 team remained in the tournament. Brewton was set to take on Jackson Tuesday night in Jackson.
