Mr. Charlie Luke Russell  died  July 21, 2009.  He  was  born Aug. 31, 1910 in Shady Grove.
Mr. Russell worked for T.R. Miller Mill Company for 40 years. While working there he received several certificates of recognition.
He was preceded in death by his father; his mother, Sarah Russell; nine siblings; his wife, Mary Alberta Russell; one son, Charlie David Russell Jr.; and his long-time companion, Ms. Elouise. 
Survivors include his sons, Zebedee (Mary Carol) Brye Jr. of  Brewton and David Lee Marshall of Las Vegas; grandchildren; great-grandchildren;nieces, nephews and many friends.
Services were held Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Baptist Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. S.C. Tucker officiating. Burial was at Baptist Hill Cemetery.
