St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church will be hosting their annual Blessing of the Animals Sunday beginning at 3 p.m.
The event will be an opportunity for staff of the Humane Society of Escambia County to collect materials and funds for the organization.
Jones said products such as toys; cooling bandanas and other pet items will be available during the two-hour event.
For those who don’t have a pet to take to the blessing event, Jones said her group could make arrangements to adopt out animals to new owners during the event.
A concession stand will be available with all proceeds from the sales benefiting the Humane Society.
Jones said anyone wishing to donate items to the Society may do so either at the shelter or during this special event.
The Humane Society’s wish list includes kitty litter, pet toys, treats, pet beds, pet shampoo, plastic 20 ounce or two-liter bottles, paper towels, Clorox, cleaning supplies, old blankets and towels and shredded paper.
St. Stephens is located at the corner of Escambia Avenue and Peavy Street.
