TRM cross country girls take Classic

The T.R. Miller Lady Tiger cross-country team swept the first three spots Saturday of the Tiger Classic in Auburn at Kiesel Park to take first place.
The Lady Tigers had four runners in the top-10 and five in the top-20 to take the top prize.
Karisa Nelson finished first overall for the Lady Tigers and overall in the race with a time of 20:02.32 and was followed by Shelby Youngblood with a time of 20:10.09.
Katie Nelson finished in the third place with a time of 20:13.29 and Amber Nelson finished in ninth place with a time of 22:34.22.
Amber Terry took 19th place for the Lady Tigers with a time of 23:42.53 and Taylor Guthrie finished with a time of 26:18.25 for 37th place.
Abbi Carlson took 47th place for T.R. Miller with a time of 29:18.98 to help T.R. Miller take first out of six teams in class 1A-4A.
The T.R. Miller Tiger boy’s team took fifth place out of six teams in the Classic at Auburn.
Brandon Nelson led all finishers with a first place finish and a time of 17:54.27.
Matt Ray finished in ninth place overall with a time of 18:47.50 and Taylor Terry finished with a time of 19:49.72 and a 20th place finish.
Christian Carlson finished with a time of 21:47.57 and a 50th place finish and Ryan Snowden finished in 84th place with a time of 27:37.04.
The cross country Tigers were set to run again on Tuesday in Pace and will be back in action on Thursday, Nov. 5 when they take part in the 3A sectional meet in Auburn.
The 3A state meet will be held on Saturday, Nov. 14 in Moulton.
