East Brewton Youth Football hosted the Evergreen Aggies for their Homecoming Saturday, Oct. 10 at W.S. Neal Stadium in East Brewton.
The day began with disappointment when the EB Midgets suffered their second loss against the Aggies this season.
This game proved to be all defense and remained scoreless until the last quarter of play when Evergreen scored their solo touchdown.
East Brewton’s Christian Madden (#12) had four successful carries that yielded 61 total yards.  Marcus Dillard (#13) had two carries for 19 yards.
Konner Wood (#20) had two carries for six yards. Caleb Sexton (#15) got his hands on the ball for one carry.
Leading EB’s Midget defense were Dylan Ingram (#4), Paxton Scurlock (#11), Caleb Sexton (#15), Konner Wood (#20), Christian Madden (#12) and Walker Cunningham (#26).
The final score had Evergreen winning over East Brewton, 6-0.
EB Tiny Mites 20, Evergreen 0
The EB Tiny Mites were at it again with a 20-0 shut out of Evergreen’s Aggies to improve their record.
The game began with a scoreless first quarter but that didn’t last long.
Quarter number two began with a 40-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Matthew Thomas (#40) to Brendan Jenkins (#5).
The point after run by Thomas (#40) left the score EB 7 and Evergreen 0 going into the second half.
Taylor Fountain (#18) rushed for a total of 62 yards, which included touchdown number two.
Isaac Bonam (#28) led the Tiny Mites with a total of seven carries that yielded 101 yards and EB’s final touchdown of the day came with Morgan Riley (#24) coming up with the point after conversion.
Other big offensive plays that led to their victory were Matthew Thomas (#40) rushing for 73 yards and completing a 9-yard pass to Jennings Hobbs (#21).
Jamal Duggans (#17) carried the football one time for 23 yards and Morgan Riley (#24) contributed with a 16 yard carry to give the Tiny Mites a total of 275 rushing yards.
EB’s defense were not going to be out done as they held the Aggies to a scoreless game due to the combined efforts of Michael Campbell (#2), Christian Nelson (#3), Dylan Ingram (#4), Brendan Jenkins (#5), Jamal Duggans (#17), Matthew Thomas (#40), Steven Dyess (#67), Isaac Bonam (#28) and Nehemiah Nearor (#33).
EB Termites 13,
Evergreen 0
The winning continued when the East Brewton Termites took the field against Evergreen.
Keith Barksdale (#1) carried the ball 18 yards for the first touchdown of the day, Jacoby Hawthorne (#2) was good for the point after conversion that led to a score of EB 7 and Evergreen 0 at the end of quarter number one.
Jacoby Hawthorne (#2) led the Termites with 49 rushing yards, which included EB’s final touchdown.
Quarterback Joseph Booker had three pass completions; two to Jacoby Hawthorne (#2) for a total 33 yards and one to Matt Hutchins (#5) for seven yards.
Also contributing to the offensive domination were Christian Taylor (#3) with four carries for 36 yards and Joseph Booker (#11)  who had two carries for 25 yards.
Tyreke Williams (#31) and Dshoz Lett (#33) had  one carry each for the Eagles in the win.
Leading the defense in tackles and assists were J.T. Lane (#32), Joseph Booker (#11) and Omar Ellington (#10). Also stepping up when needed with some key tackles were Tyshawn Davis (#22), Duane Hamby (#8), and Harley Fuqua (#9).
The final score was EB 13 and Evergreen 0.
EB Pee Wees 26, Evergreen 0
The East Brewton Pee Wee’s returned to their winning ways by defeating Evergreen Aggies by a score of 26-0.
The Pee Wee’s struck early and often in the first half of play.
The first series of the game ended with a sweep left to Malcolm Hawthorne (#2) that yielded a 30-yard touchdown; extra point was no good.
The next series, EB ended with a power dive for 12 yards with Miles Powell (#16) carrying defenders into the end zone and Malcolm Hawthorne (#2) converted the extra point to give the Eagles and early lead in the game.
The first quarter ended with a 33-yard pass from Miles Powell (#16) to Tyshawn Davis (#22) and the extra point conversion was good by Joseph Booker (#11).
EB’s last possession of the first half was a 1-yard touchdown run by Lane Chavers (#18) and the extra point was no good.
The second half of the ball game was scoreless.
Leading the Pee Wee offense was Malcolm Hawthorne (#2) as he carried the ball five times for 113 yards.
Miles Powell (#16) rushed the ball for 82 yards on eight carries. 
Mykail Johnson (#21) touched the ball six times for 62 yards.
EB’s Quarterbacks Lane Chavers (#18) and Miles Powell (#16) threw the ball for 29 yards and 45 yards respectively.
The Pee Wee’s stellar defense turned out Saturday night with another shut out win.
The defense was led by Malik Grace (#15) with five solo and two assist tackles; Miles Powell (#16) had five tackles while Trey Taylor (#5) had four tackles.
Others assisting in the defense were Taylor “Catfish” Cole (#52) with two tackles while Malcolm Hawthorne (#2) and Troy Lewis (#3) had one each for the East Brewton Youth Football Pee Wees in their win over the Evergreen Aggies on homecoming.
All teams from East Brewton Youth Football played Greenville last week and will take on the Evergreen Jaguars in Evergreen today in their last regular season game of the 2009 season.
Division playoffs will begin Saturday, Oct. 31 in Georgiana and the Super Bowl will be Saturday, Nov. 7 in Andalusia.
