James Fredrick Czerny

Mr. James Fredrick ‘Chief’ Czerny, 68, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at a Pensacola hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Delaware and a former resident of Castleberry, before moving to Brewton 16 years ago. He was a machinist with Brewton Iron Works with more than 34 years of service and attended the Range Free Will Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Marines for 16 years in which he served five tours to Vietnam. He was a Scout Master for 20 years with the Castleberry Boy Scout Troop 233.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Minuard Czerny of Brewton; a son, Edward (Melinda) Czerny of Cleveland, Tenn.; three brothers, George Czerny, Bobby Czerny, and Edward Czerny, all of Newark, Del.; a sister, Zella Lewis of Nottingham, Pa.; and one grandson, Xzavior Czerny.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, at 2 p.m. at the Range Free Will Baptist Church with Craver’s Funeral Home directing.
