A Flomaton woman is facing four felony drug charges and other charges after police said she picked up a prescription that was not hers from a local drug store.
Wandra Gibson was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree theft of property; third-degree forgery; three counts of possession of a controlled substance; and second-degree possession of marijuana, said Sgt. Brian Davis, supervisor of the Brewton Police Department’s narcotics division.
Davis said the investigation began after a local resident told police that when she went to Walmart to pick up a prescription, the medicine had already been signed for and picked up.
Police reviewed the surveillance footage from Feb. 3 and identified an unknown woman picking up the prescription for Xanax, which is a controlled substance.
Police identified the woman as Gibson, Davis said, and when they went to arrest her at her home in Flomaton, they found her in possession of half an ounce of marijuana as well as several Adderall and Xanax pills, which are a controlled substance and available by prescription only.
Davis said the investigation is continuing, and further arrests are likely.
