Mrs. Maxine McKissack Bell, 72, died Saturday, March 6, 2010, in a Pensacola medical facility after a brief illness. She was a native of Columbus, Ga. and a former resident of Bradley before moving to Pensacola in 1965. She attended the Bradley Assembly of God Church and was a retired lab tech from Monsanto with 38 years of service. She was preceded in death by a brother, Mack McKissack and a sister, Marilyn Kolp.
She is survived by her husband, Reuben Bell of Pensacola; three sons, Danny (Patrice) Bell of Buckeye, Ariz.,Terry (Lynn) Bell of Pensacola, and Matt (Vickie) Bell of Molino, Fla.; a daughter, Donna (Paul) Brazwell of Pensacola; five brothers, Lamar McKissack and Billy McKissack, both of Pensacola, Royce McKissack of Oklahoma, Bobby McKissack of Bradley, and Jimmy McKissack of Brewton; two sisters, Geraldine Riley of Georgia, and Jane Fowler of Roberts; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 9, at 2 p.m. at Bradley Assembly of God Church with Elder Rex Tolbert, the Rev. Bobby Dubose, and Speaker Angie Hart officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
