JDCC Warhawk baseball improves record

In a weekend series at home against Wallace State-Dothan, the JDCC Warhawk baseball team took two-of-three to improve to 12-22 overall and 7-11 in conference play.
After dropping game one in the top of the ninth on Friday, JDCC bounced back and won the double header on Saturday.
In game one Saturday, JDCC used a come-from-behind win to get the win.
Blake Long got the game-winning hit in the bottom of the ninth inning. Shane Ikner went the distance throwing all nine innings for the Warhawks.
In game two, Ryne Drummonds had an outstanding pitching performance against one of the top offensive clubs in the country according to JDCC head coach Darrell Blevins. Drummonds threw all seven innings and earned the win.
Ryne Phillips hit a three-run homerun to give the Warhawks the lead and they never looked back.
JDCC lost game one 13-5 before winning game two 5-4 and game three11-6.
In game one, JDCC gave up eight runs in the final inning to lose by eight after the game was tied 5-5.
In game two, JDCC trailed 4-3 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning before scoring two runs to win by one.
In other games, JDCC took two-of-three from Southern Union.
SU 6, JDCC 1
In game one, JDCC was held to one lone run in the third inning while Southern Union scored six runs on eight hits.
Xavier Cunningham was 1-for-3 with one RBI and Drummonds was 1-for-4 with a double. Blake Long was 1-for-3 with a double and Ryne Phillips was 1-for-3 along with Taylor Register. Robbie Jernigan was 2-for-4.
Michael King pitched eight innings and took the loss on the mound. King allowed eight hits, six runs, five earned, walked four and struck out six.
JDCC 11, SU 7
Five runs in the top of the ninth inning gave JDCC a four-run win in game two over Southern Union to improve to 9-21 and 4-10 in conference play.
Cunningham was 1-for-3 and Mickey McMillon had one RBI in the win at the plate.
Zach Payne was 2-for-3 with one RBI and Drummonds had a double and was 1-for-4 with one RBI. Stephen Scoggins was 1-for-1 and Blake Long had one RBI. Phillips had a homerun and a double as he went 2-for-5 with five RBIs.
Harry Haring was 1-for-3 with one RBI and Jernigan was 1-for-4 with one RBI and a triple.
Andrew Favant earned the win as he went seven innings and allowed six hits and two runs with one earned.
Favant walked none and struck out six. Sam Sharpe went two innings and allowed five hits, five runs, four earned, walked none and struck out two.
JDCC 11, SU 3
In the rubber game match, JDCC claimed the series with an 11-3 win.
Leading 5-2 after the sixth inning, JDCC scored six runs in the final inning while Southern Union scored one to win by eight.
Payne was 1-for-4 with one RBI and Drummonds was 1-for-3. Long was 1-for-3 with one homerun and three RBIs. Phillips and Haring both had doubles with Phillips going 1-for-4 with two RBIs and Haring going 3-for-4 with three RBIs.
Taylor Register was 1-for-4 with one RBI and Jernigan was 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Ikner earned the win on the mound as he went the complete game seven innings and allowed two earned runs on four hits, walked three and struck out eight.
