A Brewton woman will face a judge April 30 to learn what her sentence will be on assault and receiving stolen property charges.
Robin Lynn Lambeth, 35, was arrested in July 2009 and charged with attempted murder and domestic violence assault, first degree, after Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting on Appleton Road. Lambeth was originally indicted on the attempted murder and a charge of receiving stolen property, second degree.
Court officials said Tuesday those charges had been amended and Lambeth pled guilty to the lesser charges. The attempted murder charge was amended to a charge of second degree assault with the receiving stolen property, second degree charge amended to a third degree charge.
The charges stemmed from an incident that left Memphis Shane Riddle, 38, wounded after being shot in the back. Riddle told deputies he had returned home after riding horses and found Lambeth at his residence. He told deputies Lambeth shot him in the back with a shotgun recovered at the scene.
Officials with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department said at the time of the arrest that Riddle and Lambeth had an on and off relationship for a period of time. The shotgun reportedly was loaded with birdshot and entered the victim’s back at an angle.
Lambeth faces seven to 10 years in prison on the assault charge and up to $5,000 in fines. She also faces up to a year in prison on charges of third degree receiving stolen property and additional fines.
