Marlins still on top

The Astros and Marlins picked up wins Thursday night in East Brewton in recent Brewton Babe Ruth play.
The Astros defeated the Royals 7-2 to improve to 3-2 while the Royals dropped to 2-3.
The Marlins remained undefeated and improved to 5-0 with a 10-0 win over the Brewers. The loss dropped the Brewers to 0-5.
Tuesday games were rained out in Brewton and will be made up at the end of the season.
In the first game, before rain postponed the game, the Phillies led the Brewers 1-0 in the first inning.
Astros 7, Royals 2
The Astros, leading 3-2 after four innings of play, scored four runs in the fifth inning to defeat the Royals 7-2 Thursday night.
The Astros led 2-0 after the top of the second inning and 3-0 after the top of the third inning before the Royals scored two in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to 3-2.
Brian Settle earned the win on the mound for the Astros going six innings and allowing two runs on four hits, walked two and struck out 10.
Settle allowed no earned runs.
Christian Purvis took the loss for the Royals going five innings and allowing seven runs, five earned, on six hits, walked five and struck out eight.
At the plate for the Astros, Brandon Carmichael, Tyler Dehoff, Settle, Patrick Glass, and Luke Agerton were all 1-for-2 with Agerton having two RBIs.
Nick Laster was 1-for-1 with one RBI and Mike Williams had an RBI in the win.
For the Royals, Purvis was 1-for-3 with a double along with Dylan Godwin.
Cameron Easterling was 1-for-2 and Trin Miller was 1-for-3.
Marlins 10, Brewers 0
In the nightcap, the Marlins stay undefeated while the Brewers remained winless with a 10-0 loss.
Jeremy Myers earned the win on the mound for the Marlins as he went five innings and allowed no runs, one hit, walked none and struck out 12.
Ryann Gray had the lone hit for the Brewers in the third inning as he went 1-for-2.
Wes Maddox took the loss on the mound for the Brewers going three innings and allowing seven runs, five earned, on five hits, walked three and struck out one.
For the Marlins at the plate, Shawn Lucas was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and Hunter Mullins was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Cam Blackman was 2-for-4 and Dominique Jackson was 1-for-3.
Lowell Swain was 1-for-3 and Keaton Parker had one RBI in the win.
The Marlins scored four runs in the first inning, three in the second, two in the fourth, and one in the sixth inning to get the win.
