A paramedic is looking for a medical bag he believes was taken when he responded to a wreck on Foshee Road Saturday.

Three people were injured in the two-vehicle collision, state troopers said.

According to the Alabama State Troopers, they responded to the two-vehicle accident around 9:20 a.m. Preston Neal Cheatham, 25, of Brewton was driving a 1992 Isuzu which collided with a 2006 Chevrolet. Both Cheatham and his passenger, Sterling Bullard, 25, of Brewton, were injured and transported to USA in Mobile by Life Flight.

The driver of the 2006 Chevrolet, Thomas Alba Cameron Jr., 52, of Brewton, was transported to D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital. Alabama Trooper Wesley Davis investigated the accident, but there is no word of the extent of the injuries sustained.

While he was helping with the wounded, Jerod Morris, a member of the Pineview-Foshee Road Volunteer Fire Department, lost his medical bag.

Morris said he never expected his good deed would result in misfortune for him.

“When we arrived on the scene, we found it to be a head-on collision and was a trauma situation,” Morris said. “I sat my medical bag down and went to work on the traumas. I helped the medic in the ambulance load a patient and we were able to get the trauma cases ready to be transported.”

Morris said that when he returned to the scene of the accident, he couldn’t find his medical bag.

“No one knew what happened to it,” he said. “I have searched everywhere I can think of. I have even called the wrecker service that came out. This bag is very important to me. All of my credentials and certification were in the bag and although I can have my records re-issued, I would surely like to have this one back. It contains crucial equipment to evaluating patients.”
