The 2010 Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk volleyball team dropped their season opener Tuesday at Wallace State Selma 3-2 to start the season 0-1.
The game was also a conference game for JDCC as they fell to 0-1 in conference play as well.
JDCC Lady Warhawk head coach Misti Nims said in game one, her team played slow, and timid and did not have a lot of offense but played much better in game two as a team and started the shake the nerves.
“In game three, we came back from a seven point deficit (18-24) at the end to tie and take the win 27-25,” Nims said. “In game four, both sides played tired and could not finish the game but in game five, we came back again from a five-point deficit (10-14) but could not finish and lost 17-19. Overall the team played well for their first outing. We played hard and had a lot of fight. Just left the win in Selma. Even though it was a disappointing loss, the team showed a lot of potential for growth.”
In the game Tuesday, JDCC lost set one 25-20, won sets two and three 25-20 and 27-25, lost set four 25-22 and lost set five 19-17.
