An Escambia County man was injured Wednesday morning after a fall from a tree stand, sheriff’s officials said.
John Davis, 33, had apparently climbed 30 feet into a tree in a tree climber earlier that morning when he became ill, reports said. He was able to contact his father, who helped him climb partway down from the tree — about 20 feet from the ground — when Davis fell and landed on debris on the ground.
Because of his condition, LifeFlight took Davis to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla., for treatment.
Davis was not wearing a harness, sheriff’s officials said.
The Pineview/Foshee Fire Department was dispatched to the scene along with EMA and Flomaton Fire and Rescue.
