Lenstine Woods

Mrs. Lenstine Woods, 74, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, in a Jay, Fla., hospital. She was a native of Drewry and a resident of Brewton. She was an active member of the Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Alex Malden; her daughter, Diane Sanders Porterfield; her step-father, John L. White; and a brother,  Bill Betts.
She is survived by her mother, Katie Ruth White of Brewton; a daughter, Deborah Sanders of Brewton; a son, Roosevelt (Darlene) Sanders Jr. of Corinth, Texas; a step-son, Jerry Oliver (Angela) Woods of Buffalo, N.Y.; five brothers, John (Joanne) White, Robert White, and Richard Betts, all of Brewton, Samuel (Debra) Malden of Solon, Ohio, and Alex (Lavon) Malden of Detroit, Mich.; three sisters, Elizabeth Ashwood of Ocala, Fla., Kathy (Willie) Benjamin of Brewton, and Sheliah (Celestino) Sanchez of Pensacola, Fla.; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family and friends.
Funeral services were held at Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie J. Blue officiating. Burial followed at Baptist Hill Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Marvin Stallworth, Tony Wilmer, John Cheatham, John T. White, Patrick Hendrieth and Baryl Mallard.
