TRM baseball sweeps Washington County

In a two-game area series with Washington County Thursday at home and Friday on the road, the T.R. Miller Tiger baseball team improved their overall record to 11-3 and area record to 3-1 with a sweep.
The Tigers took down the Bulldogs 4-0 Thursday at home in Brewton and won 9-3 on the road at Washington County Friday. No game three was played after the Tiger win Friday in game one.
With the sweep, T.R. Miller no owns head-to-head wins over Excel and Washington County with area games against Clarke County and Bayside Academy left on the schedule.

The Tigers scored two runs each in the second and fifth innings and got a shutout on the mound from pitcher Kevin Davis to take a 4-0 win in game on Thursday at home.
Davis pitched the complete game allowing no runs, three hits, walked one and struck out 17 in the win. With the win for Davis, he improved his pitching record to 4-0.
Jacob Fillmore was 2-for-3 and Collin Graves was 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Kameron Winn was 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Friday in Chatom, the Tigers finished the sweep of Washington County winning 9-3.
The Tigers held Washington County to three runs in the fourth while plating five in the second, two in the third and one each in the fifth and sixth innings.
Conner Denton earned the win on the mound going seven innings allowing three runs, one earned, allowed eight hits, struck out nine, walked four and hit one.
Caleb McAnally was 2-for-2 with a double and one RBI and Fillmore was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
Trent Robinson was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Winn was 1-for-4.
