Mr. A.W. Williams, 79, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003 in a Mobile hospital. He was a resident of Atmore for many years, was a retired truck driver with Pepsi-Cola Company and a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Alberta Williams of Atmore; five daughters, JoAnn Williams, Mary Robinson, Kathleen Coley and Rosie Williams, all of Atmore and Ann Prowell of Columbus, Ga.; four sons, Alfred Williams, Clarence Williams and Melvin Williams, all of Atmore and James Williams of Bay Minette.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 18, at 1 p.m. at Gaines Chapel AME Church in Atmore with Rev. A.T. Days officiating. Burial followed at Stallworth Cemetery with Eastside Funeral Chapel directing.
