Adam’s Sports Spot blog: There is no place like home (plate)…unless you do not touch it

Hello Brewton area sports fans.
I was looking on the Internet today and came across this bizarre and sad story (for the losing team).
In the Class LL high school state championship baseball game in Connecticut, a team in extra innings thought they had scored the winning run to win the state championship, but the runner did not touch home plate before getting mobbed by his team in celebration of the championship.
The runner would later be called out and the game would go to the next inning only to see the opposing team score a run in the top of the inning and hold the other team (the team that just prior thought they had won the game) scoreless for the win.
All I can say is WOW!
Here is a link to the story and video on Yahoo!:

This is a very tough and strange way to lose a game. Not only lose the game, but a state championship that they thought they had won an inning prior.
Well, I hope you enjoyed this.
Just always remember, there is no place like home, but if you are playing baseball, home is like nothing else—especially if you do not touch it.
Until we meet again here or out in the world of sports, God bless.
