Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawks basketball player Greg Dickinson has been named to the All-Region 22 First Team for the 2003-04 season.
Dickinson, a 6-3 sophomore from Clarke County, was among the nation's top scorers for most of the season until his campaign was cut short due to a knee injury.
Despite the injury, which cost Dickinson 10 games, he still led JDCC in scoring at 19.8 points per game. He also contributed 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.6 steals per contest.
"I think it says a lot about the respect Greg had from the region coaches to make the team considering how much time he missed. There were only about four of our conference teams that saw Greg play," JDCC coach Allen Gainer said. "In addition to the games Greg missed, he also played very little in a couple of other games. However, those two brief appearance count as games played and they took about two points a game off his season average."
Dickinson, who injured his knee the first time in a January home game against Bishop State and reinjured it in February in a home game against Lawson, has since undergone surgery on the knee.
"Greg had to miss last week at school after he had the surgery. With spring break this week, that gives him another week to recover before classes resume next week. From all indications right now, it should be a successful surgery," Gainer said.

Three other JDCC basketball sophomores will get a final chance to represent the school before their graduation.
Brandon Montgomery, a 6-5 sophomore from Montgomery, has been chosen to play in the Region 22 All-Star Game.
That contest will be held April 10 at Shelton College.
Meanwhile Jeff Foster, a 6-2 sophomore from Birmingham, and Kenny Thompson, a 6-3 sophomore from Pensacola, have been invited to play in the Region 22 Showcase Game. That contest will also be played at Shelton College April 10.
The T.R. Miller Tigers basketball team has ended its stay at the Red Level Holiday Tournament.
"A big reason why we're pulling out is we're moving up our own tournament to December 27-29 next season in order to work around the Christmas and New Year's Day holidays. The two schedules overlap so we had to pull out," T.R. Miller coach Rob Atkinson said.
Atkinson said the Tigers will probably not replace the Red Level Tournament with another tournament.

"We'll probably just go with two tournaments, our own and the Escambia County Tournament. We'll try to pick up a regular season game or two in place of Red Level," Atkinson said.
Brewton area golfers in the age 11-18 group are invited to participate in the Second Annual Arrowhead Junior Masters at Scenic Hills Country Club in Pensacola on April 3-4.
Registration deadline is March 30 at 6 p.m. For more information, call 850-650-9321.
They were winners: T.R. Miller's Hayes Martin and Karl Kast won their number two doubles match against Andalusia last week by a score of 8-2. Sunday's paper said they had lost the match.
