James Lloyd ‘Jim’ Brown

Mr. James Lloyd “Jim” Brown, 76, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at a Pensacola, Fla., health care facility after an extended illness.
He was a native of Escambia County, Ala., and had been a resident of Castleberry for the past 54 years, coming from North Brewton. He was a member of the W.S. Neal Class of 1954, and owned and operated Brown’s Tires in Castelberry for 25 years. Mr. Brown was a member of Castleberry Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Judy M. Brown; two sons, Richard (Valerie) Brown and Tony Brown; and one daughter, Margaret Brown, all of Castleberry; five grandchildren, Summer Bondurant, Shane Taylor, Matthew Brown, Samantha Brown, and Haley Brown; two great-grandchildren, Maegan Bondurant, and Holland Bondurant.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 23, at 2 p.m. at Castleberry Methodist Church with the Rev. Doug Darby, and the Rev. Bob Godbee officiating. Burial followed in Buffington Cemetery. The pallbearers were James Blair, Larry Colvin, Ronald Shumack, James Holland, Homer Holland, and Buddy Kirksey.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent the Castleberry Methodist Church in memory of Jim Brown.
