Business teacher recognized at school board meeting

At its regular meeting on Thursday, June 17, the Escambia County Board of Education recognized Betty Clark for her work with Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and for her appointement to the state FBLA board for the term of June 2004 to July 2007.
Clark is a business office education teacher at the Escambia Brewton Career Technical Center.
In other business, the board approved four bid proposals to begin construction on a physical education facility at Escambia County Middle School in Atmore. Approved were a bid for Hines Construction Company, Inc. to do site work, slab and plumbing for $31,000; an electrical bid awarded to Tri-Co Electric Company in the amount of $35,000; a mechanical bid to Bud's Refrigeration Service for $11,334; and a pre-engineered metal building bid to Bay Technical Building Systems, Inc. for $31,652.
All expenses for this project will come from state funds.
