Although this past Friday night's 56-8 win over winless Calhoun might not have been the best indicator, there is little doubt the T.R. Miller Tigers have become a progressively better football team since a loss suffered the second week of the season.
The Tigers, 3-1 overall and 2-1 against regional competition after the win last week, have outscored the opposition 77-8 the past two games and appear to be hitting their midseason stride.
Miller takes a break from Region 1 competition this week by playing host to the Andalusia Bulldogs. The Class 4A Bulldogs enter Friday night's contest with a 2-2 season record.
Do the Tigers approach the non-regional matchup any differently than they would a regional game?
The Bulldogs enter the contest with a 2-2 record, but both losses have come at the hands of perennial powers Charles Henderson and UMS-Wright. Riggs said the Bulldogs are the type team that pounds you with straight-ahead football and then surprises you with deception.
The Friday night kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. at Brewton Municipal Stadium.
