On Friday, June 18, 2004, public educators from throughout Conecuh, Coving ton and Escambia counties gathered at T.R. Miller High School to receive training on issues relevant to their professions. As a result, these local Alabama Education Association (AEA) members will be better prepared to educate and assist students during the upcoming 2004-2005 school term.
On behalf of these local members and the 92,000-plus AEA members throughout the State of Alabama, I would like to publicly acknowledge the following local merchants for donating door prizes:
The Treasure Chest, The Garden Gate Florist and Gifts, Weaver's Department Store, Moye's Printing and Office Supplies, Valerie Long's Longevity Antiques Collectibles and Personalized Gift Baskets, Food Fair, B.C. Moores, Pearl's Seafood Market and Cafe, Speedy Lube, Underground DJ's and NDI.
The AEA family realizes the success of our public schools largely depends on partnerships between educators, parents and the business community. We appreciate your continued support and dedication to those who educate our students. On behalf of the staff, management and members of the largest statewide organization solely dedicated to "Working for Great Public Schools." I truly thank you all.
Also, I proudly acknowledge Mr. Lynn Smith, superintendent of Brewton City Schools, for his professionalism, dedication, assistance and cooperation. And, finally, I would like to thank the maintenance crew and local principal at T.R. Miller High School for their help on the day of the event.
