People will soon have an additional way to follow the T.R. Miller Tigers football team.
The program is in the process of starting its own website, which will be located at www.trmillerfootball.org.
"Once we get it going, we plan to have stuff like our schedules, statistics, pictures and other miscellaneous items about what is going on within our program," T.R. Miller coach/athletic director Jamie Riggs said. "It won't be limited to just the varsity team. We'll also include stuff about our 'B' team as well as the Brewton Middle School team."
Riggs said there are three main purposes for the website, which should be in operation by the end of September.
"I think first of all, it will serve as a promotional tool for the people in our community who aren't around the school or at our games on a regular basis. It should also be a very beneficial tool for our alumni and former citizens who are no longer in this area. It's also for our players since this is about them," Riggs said.
The T.R. Miller coach said websites are the communication tool of the modern age.
"Like it or not, computers are now how most people communicate, especially younger people. We're more or less just trying to keep up with the times," Riggs said.
Once up and going, Riggs said the site should be updated weekly during the season and as needed during the offseason.
"We'll still have updates about what we're doing such as our training program, our spring game and other promotional events," Riggs said.
Riggs said websites for schools and their athletic teams are nothing new. However, some are maintained much better than others.
"You'll have some schools that update their sites on a regular basis, which we plan to do. Then there are some that might put something on their site at the start of the school year and never update it," Riggs said. "

The current volleyball postseason format that takes the top two teams from the Area Tournament to the Regional is almost meaningless in three Class 1A fields this season.
Area 1 (Fruitdale and McIntosh), Area 2 (Millry and McIntosh) and Area 3 (Kinston and Zion Chapel) only contain two teams. About the only purpose those tournaments serve is seeding for the regional.
Clarke County has been awarded the Area Tournament site for Class 3A Area 1, which also contains T.R. Miller and W.S. Neal.
The next meeting for the T.R. Miller Quarterback Club is Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Field House.
