Every donation is important in reaching United Fund goal

In 2002, Brewton and East Brewton United Fund met its goal of raising $80,000, and in 2003, the organization raised its goal to $90,000. The people of Brewton and East Brewton came through again and donated enough to make that goal.
Less than two weeks into this year's eight-week United Fund drive, it's not too early to have the 2004 goal of $90,000 in focus.
If there's any doubt that donating to Brewton and East Brewton United Fund is important, just remember the 15 local agencies that depend on those donations to operate and serve this community throughout the year.
This year, the programs that will benefit from United Fund donations include KidOne Transport; Brewton Area YMCA; East Escambia Chapter of the American Red Cross; Girl Scouts -- Deep South Council; Brewton Public Library; Brewton Parks and Recreation Dept.; Escambia County Mental Health Association; Boy Scouts -- Gulf Coast Council; East Brewton Youth Sports; Southwest Alabama Mental Health/Mental Retardation Board; Escambia County Library System; Alabama Cooperative Extension System; Disabled Children and Adults -- Brewton Chapter; Salvation Army; and the Christian Community Benevolent Fund.
Among those services, at least one must touch the life of every person in Brewton and East Brewton. And every donation -- be it thousands or just a few dollars -- is a crucial part of the puzzle that once completed, will mean another success for United Fund and another year of outstanding services from the agencies listed above.
