Former TRM back tallies 229 yards in C-N win

Former T.R. Miller Tiger running back Rayvon Howard had another huge game for Carson-Newman College Saturday.
Howard, who was the state's 2002 Class 4A Back of the Year, ran for 229 yards on just 13 carries with four touchdowns in a 41-10 victory over Wingate.
Howard had touchdown runs of 47, 6, 70 and 58 yards, as he surpassed 1,000 yards for the season. Howard has now rushed for 1,051 yards for the season and has averaged eight yards per attempt.
Carson-Newman (8-2) clinched the South Atlantic Conference championship with the victory and also earned a berth in the NCAA Division II playoffs.
