United Fund of Brewton and East Brewton provides funding that helps Boy Scouts Gulf Coast Council fund local activities.
Boy Scout volunteer Leon Hartley said because United Fund helps the Boy Scouts, local youngsters have more access to camps, training and leadership opportunities and program materials.
The Boy Scouts Gulf Coast Council is one of 15 agencies that will benefit from the $90,000 United Fund hopes to raise for 2005. As the end of last week, the organization had raised $33,510.
United Fund asks citizens to give the equivalent of one hour's wages each month. Donations can be mailed to United Fund of Brewton and East Brewton at P.O. Box 34, Brewton, AL 36427.
