Rev. Bobby Lee Rone, 69, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, in Birmingham. He was a native and prior resident of Mobile. He was a retired Southern Baptist minister and served in the following churches, Blue Lake Baptist, Chipley, Fla.; Millry Baptist Church, Millry, Ala.; St. Stephens Baptist Church, St. Stephens, Ala.; First Baptist Church, East Brewton; Shadowlawn Baptist Church, Prichard; Alco Baptist Church, Brewton; Refuge Baptist Church, Tallassee and Springhill Avenue Baptist Church where he retired in 2001. He served as chaplain for 10 years with Alabama State Troopers. He was a member of Lafitte Baptist Church in Saraland and served in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Rone of Birmingham; two sons, James Phillip Rone of Prattville and Paul Lee Rone of Thomasville; a daughter, Lori Paige Rone of Birmingham and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. at Lafitte Baptist Church with the Rev. David Atchison officiating. Graveside services were held Wednesday at noon at Hill Cemetery in Copeland with Freeman Funeral Services, Inc. of Citronelle directing.
