Mrs. Daisy Lee Clark Benefield, 84, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at a local nursing facility after an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Castleberry and a member of Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jack Benefield.
She is survived by a son, Gary Benefield of Castleberry; four daughters, Ann Walker of Pensacola, Fla., Wanda Josey of McKenzie, Jackie Lynn of Brewton, and Charlene Wilson of Castleberry; three brothers, Burns Clark of Mobile, Kent Clark of Moundville, and Bobby Clark of Brewton; one sister, Janie Roberts of Monroeville; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Grady Palmer and the Rev. Chuck Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery in Castleberry with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
