Party of five…in a row: JDCC basketball on five-game winning streak

The winning streak for the Jefferson Davis Community College Warhawk basketball team grew to five straight wins Saturday at home as the Warhawks earned a 20-point win over Gadsden State, 76-56. With the win, the Warhawks improved to 5-3, since starting the season 0-3.
JDCC held a 37-26 lead after the first half in the game Saturday and increased that lead by nine more points in the second half as they finished the game on a 39-30 run to get the win.
The Warhawks had seven players score in the game with five being in double figures.
Turmonte Ragland led the Warhawks in the win with 23 points and Gabriel Rice had 14.
Ragland finished with a double-double as he also led the team with 13 total rebounds.
D.J. Jackson chipped in 13 points while Brandon Scott and Sherman Presswood had 10 points each.
Larel Jackson had five points in the win and Rodney Scott had one.
Larel Jackson and Ragland both led with two steals each and Rice led with three blocks.
Brandon Scott led the Warhawks in the win with seven assists.
Rice also had a double-double in the win for the Warhawks as he had 12 rebounds to go with his 14 points.
Of the 13 rebounds for Ragland and 12 for Rice, 11 were defensive for the duo.
D.J. Jackson, Ragland and Scott led the team with two offensive rebounds each.
JDCC, who has only three games scheduled for the month of December, will be back in action at home Thursday, Dec. 8 against Marion Military. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
JDCC’s final game of December will be Saturday, Dec. 10 at Wallace Hanceville. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m. in Hanceville.
