Gov. Fob James was among the 300 people on hand for the dedication of Auburn University's Solon Dixon Forestry Education Center near Brewton last week.
Recipients of the second career scholarships to Jefferson Davis Junior College were Mrs. Judy Taylor, Mrs. Albertha Ewing, Mrs. Yolanda McClure, Mrs. Bobby Buckhault, Mrs. Nan Shirley, Mrs. Barbara Miller and Mrs. Anna Jackson.
Jennifer Brooks and Doug Agerton, both W.S. Neal High School juniors, have been selected to receive the Southern Pine Electric Cooperative's one week tour of Washington, D.C.
Brewton Mayor Ray Sherer and County Commission Chairman Devon Wiggins both signed proclamations for Keep American Beautiful Day in Brewton. Special activities are planned for April 23.
