Suspects arrested in attempted robbery

Four suspects were arrested Saturday after allegedly attempting to rob a Brewton convenience store and gas station.
Brewton Police say the suspects ran from the property of Murphy Express on Douglas Avenue after begin spotted by clerks before entering the store.
Tilon Debardelabon of Atmore and three juveniles have been arrested and charged with attempted robbery.
Brewton Police Sgt. Patrick Caylor said the department received a cal around 8:35 p.m. Saturday night concerning the incidents.
“The clerks at the store stated that three subjects came to the door of the store dressed in dark color clothes and wearing bandanas over their faces,” Caylor said. “One clerk also stated the the three subjects took off running toward Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union.”
The observant clerks were able to provide additional details to officers concerning the suspects in the case.
“The clerks were able to give officers on the scene a description of the three suspects,” Caylor said. “They stated that there was one female and two male subjects. They were also able to give officers a detailed description of one of the male subjects.”
Although no leads were found immediately following the Saturday night incident, officers were able to make contact with a vehicle and determined the occupants were the suspects in question, Caylor said.
“Later that evening, an officer with the East Brewton Police Department, made contact with a gray Chevrolet Caprice that was occupied with subjects fitting the description of the suspects.’ Caylor added. “After further investigation, officers with the Brewton Police Department arrested Debardelabon and three juveniles for the attempted robbery of Murphy Express.”
