Dorothy ‘Dot’ Fortner Hopper

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Fortner Hopper, 81, of Brewton, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012 in a local hospital after a brief illness. She was a native and resident of Hustburg, Tenn, a former resident of Birmingham and New Orleans, before moving to Brewton in 1977. She was a member of the Brewton Church of Christ and a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Wayne Hopper; two sons, Barry (Wanda) Hopper of Pelham, and Greg (Sharon) Hopper of Metairie, La.; a daughter, Kim Juana Hopper of Quinque, Va.; three sisters, Mary E. Fortner and Margaret Plant, both of New Johnsonville, Tenn., and Frances Coke of Nashville, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 1 at 11 a.m. at the Brewton Church of Christ with Minister Mike Williams officiating. Burial will be held Saturday, March 3, in Prospect Cemetery in Hollow Rock, Tenn. with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
