Brewton Police Department responded to several calls this past week and in the process arrested one on burglary charges and two for possession of drugs.
According to Police Chief David Lovelace, officers responded to a burglary call on Friday, May 6, at 11:43 at Car Care Automotive located at 1008 Douglas Avenue. Upon arrival, police found that a chain link fence surrounding an impound yard had been cut. They later arrested Sandra K. Booker, a white female, age 44, who gave her home address as 3814 Hwy. 29, East Brewton. She was charged with burglary, third degree. Chief Lovelace said that she used bolt cutters of get into the yard in an attempt to recover her car which had been impounded. Booker was later transferred to the Escambia County Detention Center.
In a routine traffic stop on Saturday, May 7, Brewton Police attemped to stop a vehicle on Sowell Road, which was driven by Andre Campbell, 19, a black male. According to police reports, Campbell ran and was later arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine and disorderly conduct. Keith Randolph Campbell, 41, also was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine. Both were booked by the Brewton Police Department and later transferred to the Escambia County Detention Center.
In another routine traffic stop on Hwy. 31 South Blvd. at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, police arrested a passenger in a vehicle. Daron Davon Turner, 25, black male, who gave his address as 710 109th Place, Los Angeles, Calif., was charged with possession of two bags of marijuana. He was later booked by the Brewton Police Department and bonded out on Monday, May 9.
