WSNMS baseball starts season off 0-1

After seeing their first two games rained out, the W.S. Neal Middle School baseball team was finally able to hit the diamond Friday at Jay.
At Jay Friday, W.S. Neal lost their first game of the season 6-5 to start the year 0-1.
W.S. Neal is scheduled to play at Flomaton Tuesday in a doubleheader. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
In the game Friday, the Eagles trailed 5-2 heading into the top of the seventh inning before scoring three runs in the inning to tie the game up. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Jay scored one run to get the win 6-5.
At the plate, Nick Glass was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs and Dalton Dell was 1-for-3. Derrick Barton was 1-for-3 with one RBI and Troy Lewis had one RBI.
Lane Chavers started on the mound and took a no decision. Chavers went five innings allowing four runs, two earned, six hits, struck out six and walked one.
Glass took the loss going two innings allowing two earned runs, two hits, walked three and struck out two.
