The hitting woes continued for the T.R. Miller Lady Tigers Tuesday in a 4-2 loss to the Jay Lady Royals.
The loss, the fourth in five games for the Lady Tigers, dropped T.R. Miller to 14-6 overall this season.
In the loss Tuesday, Jay scored one run each in the first, second, fourth and fifth innings to take a 4-0 lead over T.R. Miller before the Lady Tigers scored their only runs in the top of the sixth to cut the lead to two.
Neither team would score the remainder of the game as T.R. Miller took the loss.
Leah Brundidge did all she could to give T.R. Miller a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past Jay. Brundidge went 1-for-3 at the plate and drove in one and scored one run. She doubled in the sixth inning.
Kelsey Thompson was also 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI in the loss while Lauren Ward was 1-for-3 with a double for T.R. Miller’s only three hits of the game.
Laurel Billy took the loss on the mound for the Lady Tigers going six innings allowing eight hits, four runs, two earned, walked and struck out one.
T.R. Miller made four errors in the loss while Jay committed three.
T.R. Miller was scheduled to play in an area game Thursday at Excel and will play in the Greenville Tournament Saturday.
