Century
Mrs. Helen Maxine Black, 80, died Thursday, March 6, 2003. She had been a resident of Escambia County for 50 years coming from Keel, Miss. She was a member of Century First Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Black Sr. and a son, Billy Gene Black.
She is survived by two sons, Frank Black of Morgan City, La. and Curtis "Curly" Black of Century; two daughters, Patsy Huskey of Century and Judy LeRay of Patterson, La.; two sisters, Doris Fryer of Patterson, La. and Edna Lacoste of Century; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, March 8, at 11 a.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with family members speaking and reading scriptures. Burial followed at McCurdy Cemetery in Century with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
